New Year session is open for sign up!

This session will run January 5th-February 13th (6 weeks). Some of us got off to the right start this morning with a bonus class this morning, and were full of the joys when we finished, as you can see. You’ll feel energized from the very first class back – I promise!

Oh my!! Do your clothes fit?! Mine don’t!

How desperate are you for your clothes to fit properly again?! Oh my goodness!! Let’s get on that mission immediately with 90 minute workouts this week! Yup – 90 minutes if you can make it. I’ll be there from 9-10.30 on our days this week and join for as much that you can.

Tomorrow low tide is at 9.18am so we are lucky that we have the sand to work out on. HOWEVER! I was down there today and getting across the car park, along the path and down the stairs will be treacherous. Please be careful and take your time. NO RUNNING! (When have you ever heard me say that?!).

And here’s a fun challenge this week, with a tenuous link to Boot Camp…think Audrey Hepburn would have worn workout gear all day, lululemon or otherwise?!  I’m going to challenge myself to wear real clothes at least a couple of times this week!

Focus: Consistency for gains in strength, stamina & speed

Hope you are having a great weekend!  We are off to a great start after the first week of Boot Camp. I was really impressed that people had kept up their aerobic capacity over the break so we were able to work hard from the very first drill!

As you’ve heard me mention, I’ve been training hard for this upcoming half marathon. I’ve really enjoyed tracking the differences in my times that consistent and methodical training have made. So although the emphasis will always be on variety for Boot Camp to keep it fresh and fun, I wanted to add an element of consistency this session so we can see and feel the benefits more.

Therefore I had added the weekly half mile challenge – the times are great!  Average pace is under 4 minutes!   It’ll be satisfying to watch that number come down.

Also I noted last week that our upper body strength seems to have suffered the most over the break, I’m going to add an upper body circuit that we’ll do and build upon EVERY class.

So this week is Double up week – double the reps, double the weights, double the length of circuits – and double the fun if you bring a friend to try Boot Camp for FREE.  Fall is the prefect season for Boot CAmp so it’d be great to  get the numbers back up now so that we have a good group to keep us going and motivated throughout the tougher months!
